Nothing to do with body building. It was just a link to a site that explained the point.

Apr 29, 2016 at 10:34 pm #3398828My apologies Franco; that’s good information! I got lost in your earlier link and couldn’t muscle my way through to find it.
Apr 29, 2016 at 10:38 pm #3398830Since it doesn’t seem anyone else has said it, I guess I must.
Can’t believe you’re all having a pissing contest about all this….
Apr 29, 2016 at 10:59 pm #3398832the good news is that according to Franco’s chart a healthy pee should be the color of an IPA or maybe a wheat beer. I’ll have to work on that.
Apr 29, 2016 at 11:00 pm #3398833but not a nice scotch. sigh….
Apr 29, 2016 at 11:08 pm #3398834I’ll tell ya though, I could have used more water during my hike last weekend. I went hiking in M.C. Escher National Park, and man, I didn’t think those hills were ever going to end! Just one false summit after another!
Apr 29, 2016 at 11:15 pm #3398836Glad to hear there’s no purple urine.

I was going to post the
Purple wee
Purple wee..
bit
but now the moment has gone.Apr 30, 2016 at 8:19 am #3398860Once I walked about 8 miles, several hours, downhill, raining – so I just slogged along without stopping because it was raining.
Then my legs got very heavy. Â Could barely move. Â Drank some water and ate. Â After 30 minutes I was pretty much back to normal. Â I don’t know if it was hydration or blood sugar. Â Regardless, I’m a little better now at eating and drinking every hour or two regardless. Â Don’t need to eat and drink constantly though.
Once I did several days at 80 F or so during the day. Â Regardless of how much I drank I could not keep my urine clear over the day. Â But I drank up in the evening and my urine got clear eventually. Â . Â Water supplies weren’t real plentiful so I carried 1.5 liters.
I think you have to really work at it to get hyponatremia. Â Drink enough to make your urine clear, then drink a few more liters. Â This is only a problem if you really go crazy drinking lots of water.
I can tell the color approximately just looking at the stream. Â Doesn’t have to be very exact.
Apr 30, 2016 at 8:29 am #3398862Last night I watched on youtube the film about David Cracknell running the Marathon des Sables. Â They measured he was losing 3.5L of sweat per hour! Â Under those conditions, you gotta camel up.

30 minutes would most likely be blood sugar. Rehydration is normally significantly faster imhe.
Cheers
