Dyneema "Socks"

Just thought I’d share this article I found. There was a mashable video on Facebook but I felt weird sharing Facebook links here.

The potential applications for hiking are interesting. I wouldn’t use them in place of shoes, as you can still probably feel the ground beneath your feet, and I imagine they don’t breathe very well, but maybe as lightweight camp “shoes” or something. Dyneema is pretty awesome but I wouldn’t be super confident in it’s abrasion resistance. My whoopie slings, while they still hold strong, are a bit worse for wear. Heavily used but just on trees, not dragging on the ground.
