Durable sleping pad that is still lightweight?

I guess ‘durable’ depends on how you treat it… none of these things are tough as bricks :)
I have had no issues with the Termarest X-lite or the Uberlite… but I treat them with care…

I guess I mean something that can take an accidental scrape or wear.

The only sleeping pad I’ve had a problem with is the uberlite. That one really needs to be babied, at least by my standards. Otherwise, they are all pretty durable IMO.

Thermarest Ridgecrest is 14 ounces and very durable.

Other foam pads are even lighter.

But, not comfortable in my experience.

I’ve only used uberlite a few nights.  No failures yet.  My problem is because of the horizontal baffles (somebody pointed out) it’s sort of tippy. Best to stay in the very center or you’ll tip further.  I don’t sleep so soundly.

I’ve been using the Nemo Switchback cut down to torso length for a couple of years now. 8oz and doubles as my packframe sometimes. The main drawback is that it does not really pack down obviously so I really only use it when it can double as a packframe in something like the GG Kumo. It does surprisingly well is cold weather as well. I’ve brought it down to 20f at night before.

I suspect that bigger, heavier bodies are harder on the air mattresses as they may create more pressure when plopping down….

Going on 7+ years and many months worth of overnights on my shortened and repaired xlite which uses a 30d ht rs fabric both bottom and top.

That said, always used with a polycryo groundsheet and got the only puncture (thats why it is repaired with a patch) the single only time I did not use a groundsheet.

The other thing… I doubt that any air mattress is durable enough to withstand being left inflated out in the sun for hours… pressure builds and something will pop…
