After buying a $25 down hooded ‘jacket’ from one of the Chinese sites, I would not again. While the quality of the workmanship seems fine, and the cost/warmth ratio is very good, the fabric in the jacket I got is just not nice against the skin. Uncomfortable even. It has been regulated to emergency, bottom of the day pack use. I would suspect the fabrics on most other inexpensive down items is similar.
