This is resolved; that post will be cleaned up to remove the off-topic responses.
Here’s what was happening: a forum post with two dollar signs ($) in it was causing a math-like rendering of text between the dollar signs (math font and italics styling).
Why? Collision with BPL’s custom math equation rendering engine that rendered content between two dollar signs as a math equation.
The fix? We removed dollar signs as the “signal” delimeters for rendering math equations.
