DC UL Backpacking's Geargasm 2018: June 22-24 (northern VA)

DC UL Backpacking’s annual Geargasm event is being held June 22-24 at Elizabeth Furnace State Park in northern VA. Not only is it a great opportunity to meet other UL/lightweight backpackers in the region, but we also get demo gear in from a number of cottage companies (YAMA, Gossamer Gear, ULA, Vargo, North x North, Elemental Horizons, + more) to display and have available for folks to check out firsthand, not to mention all the personal gear everyone brings to set up and show off. We get showcase areas set up for shelters, packs, stoves, sleep systems, hammocks, and more, so there’s lots of stuff to geek out over.

There are also folks giving pack shakedowns for anyone interested in getting some feedback on their kit, as well as skills, DIY, and LNT sessions. Not to mention it’s just an overall fun event and a chance to hang out with some cool people. Here are some pics from prior Geargasms if you want a sense of what it’s all about.

If you’re interested in joining us, you can register here. No need to join or be a DC UL member to attend Geargasm, although once you meet a bunch of us you’ll probably want to anyway.
