I want to take the elastic out of the cuff of one of my down jackets and replace it with a tube of fabric. I very cold weather is there any benefit in any one fabric over the standard Nylon/Elastane tubing or ordinary polyester/Lycra fabric cut to size?
I do want it to not fit too tightly so my circulation to the hands isn’t compromised and I do want to incorporate thumb holes

Other times, by keep your thumb tucked in, you can leave all that fabric at your wrist, say, when it’s not as cold or you’re cooking or washing your hands.
