I’m thinking about offering Costco quilts made into custom down pants. Would there be any interest?
For the first person that wants a pair, I can do one for $90 including shipping. Future pairs would probably be $100 – $110, depending upon how labor intensive they are.

Interesting concept. Your “standard” product is listed at 7.5oz and $150 (and well regarded according to all the reviews I have read). Can you give us some insight on how these Costco pants would compare re: temperature and weight? Can we expect a reduction in performance and an increase in weight commensurate with the 30% reduction in price?
Trying to get a better understanding of the cost/benefit here.

I am expecting the pants to take up about 2/3rds of the material available in the quilt, so with the weight at 16oz, that would be just over 10oz. I think the consensus is that there is about 6oz of 700fp down in the Costco quilt, so that would equate to roughly 4oz of down. I would expect that to be warm to 30F or so.
The main benefit would be the custom sizing available at a reduced cost, but at the expense of added weight.
