<li style=”text-align: center;”>My gaiters attach with elastic cords under the shoe. In the right conditions the cord picks up chunks of snow and eventually ice balls form right under the sole. Is this a common problem and how do I get around it? Gaiters with flat straps? Less fuzzy cord or maybe non elastic cord?

A flat static strap would probably be a better choice.

Thread the shock cord thru some 12 or 20mm tubular webbing, coat the webbing thinly with silicon

Thanks, with the weather I probably won’t test this until next year. I’d like to keep using the same pair so I’ll try Edward’s plan.
