I only have 52 pounds of gear, plus a zippered pouch I just got and haven’t added to the spreadsheet yet. Maybe I’ll weight the patio furniture, just to get up to a respectable number.

What trips me out is only carrying a liter of water. Maybe its just a SoCal thing where water on the trail is rare and unreliable. So a gallon is the minimum I’ll carry. Sometimes more if I dont know when the next time I’ll be able to refill is. I sweat alot and very easily so I drink alot. But hey if I could get away with only a liter at a time I then that’s all i would carry

only carrying a liter of water

Most of the time Sue & I carry one PET bottle (1.25 L) between us for the day.
To be sure, if we are planning a dry camp, like on the top of a mountain, we will carry extra up there.

Could easily be an environment thing. Monitoring how much you are still carrying when you reach camp+water is worth while.

    Cheers
