    @fun2hike

    Have (only) been active as a hiker since 2019 and have done a number of multi-day trips inland (Netherlands)

    Since then the hike virus has gotten to me. Over time I have gathered some materials together to the point where I am now.

    To get an impression of what to include, I used Lighterpack. The bill of materials can be viewed here: https://lighterpack.com/r/wp0887

    Now I am looking for a backpack that is a bit lighter than the current one. I have doubts between a 50 liter and a 60 liter backpack. I lean towards the 60 ltr. With regard to the brands, I am interested in:

    • ULA Circuit Ultralight backpack 68
    • Exped Lighting 60
    • Mariposa 60 liter lightweight
    • Zpack’s Arc Haul Zip 64
    • Granite Gear Blaze 60

    My preference is for a backpack with a frame.

    Does anyone have experience with any of the above backpacks?

    @erica_rcharter-net

    Is that 9 kilos without food? I have the Arc Blast.

    9 kilos with food would be great. Oh, I see you are carrying 1 kilo of water… no water filter?

    Maybe not enough pack for that kind of weight? I’d feel better about recommending the Arc Blast if you can drop a kilo. You would drop some weight substituting the Arc for your present pack.

    I talked to ZPacks and they said the Arc Blast is more durable than the Arc Zip – no zipper to break.
