I was wondering if there was a cheap thin hooded down jacket out there for big and tall people. Tried the Costco 32 degrees one but it was to small/short in the arms in XXL. The Gerry works pretty good but it is not hooded. The Chinese ones are just too small even in XXXL. Thoughts?

Have you looked at Uniqlo? I have been pretty happy with mine. My only affiliation with them is as a customer. They have sizes to 3XL. My XL seems true to size, and the fit is fairly roomy. It’s a lot of coat for 80 clams.

The Chinese ones I have tried are the Uniqlo unlabeled ones or knock-offs and they are too small.
how light and how cheap?
More about cheap than thin. It can be more puffy as long as it hits around that $50 and below.
Not under $50 but $84.98 in 2XT COLUMBIA MEN’S LONE FIR 650 TURBODOWN™ HOODED JACKET – TALL .
Thanks. Is this one of those jackets that uses down in the torso and poly in the arms?
no, it combines down and synthetic insulation together in the same baffles throughout the jacket.
