I;d like to see this topic title changed to” MAKE/MOD YOUR OWN GEAR” because likely many more of us modify our own gear than make it. I know I’ve molded probably 80% of my gear in some way to make it work better for my needs.
An example of mildly modding my gear is: GOOSEFEET over-booties-> I substituted a closed cell foam insole that is 2X thicker than the ones they came with. Then I put 8 wavy lines of SHOE GOO across the Cordura soles of these over-booties to give me at least some traction in snow.
