    @foleyjmetrocast-net-2

    My 10+ year old Komperdel Vario 4 carbon pole broke under embarrassing conditions that were patently my fault. I’m looking for the lightest Adjustable, folding pole available.

    There do not seem to be any among the 4000 poles now available that are in the 5 -6 oz range and fit all my above conditions – adjustable because our Z pack triplex uses a different height than I do, folding to be storable for class III NH scrambling and VERY light because I’m a little ( well, lot) old.

    Thanks in advance for any advice!

    John,

    These may be worth your look:  https://www.monspeakix.com/products/mons-peak-ix-tiger-paw-carbon-trekking-poles

    They don’t fold  and at 7oz each above your heavy end,  but with 3 sections collapse down <24″ and extend to 53″.  They have proven quite robust as I’ve navigated talus fields and pack quickly when confronted with an up or down climb.

    When you say 5-6 oz, you obviously mean per pole. Its hard to imagine finding much under 12 oz per pair that will offer what you are asking. Black Diamond FLZ Carbon are 12.7 oz for the 105-125 cm length.

    I just purchased these:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DYKZD7X?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details

    8 oz each. I’ll probably cut off the foam below the cork handles and save an oz or so each.

    They seem pretty good so far; no extensive use yet.

    Yep Erica, I cut off the foam below the handles of my Cascade poles. I never use them and now my Quick stiX clamp under the handles to make the poles into instant X’d shooting sticks when I’m hunting.
