Can anyone tell me brand of this stake might be? I would like to get a few more but don’t know where I got them or what brand they are. Thanks.

Yes, it is a generic Y stake .

I suggest buying the original MSR Groundhog because some of the imitation use soft aluminium that bends or cracks easily.

The longer versions (8-9″) have a much better holding power if that is needed.

Thanks, Matthew and Franco. Actually, Franco, I was in my ProTrail in the middle of a three-hour downpour (several inches of rain) a couple of weeks ago and the ground got so soft one of the stock stakes I was using came loose… so I am looking for something a little beefier for those conditions. (I love the tent, though!)

Jeff, I think those stock stakes are mini groundhogs and Franco is talking about the full size.

Hi Jeff

there is very little difference in holding power between the 6″ Easton and the Mini GroundHog.

To get better it is a close race between the 8″ (also called 9″…) Easton and the same in GroundHog.

I use the short ones only to extend the fabric spread not for the guylines.

Difficult to tell from your photo if it’s a Y or V stake but it certainly looks like the ones linked above. It also bears resemblance ( minus the cord hole ) to some Sierra Designs V stakes I have. V stakes are lighter ( obvi ).

Looks most like the Clamcleat stakes I got recently and tried them on a trip last week. Not anywhere as  good as the big MSR ground hogs but fine for side panels. I bent a couple pounding them.
