    I’m trying to do some trip planning into the Lincoln national forest in New Mexico.  (https://caltopo.com/m/JNJT)

    I’m using CalTopo And I’m looking at the MapBuilder Topo base map.

    Some of the trails are marked in red, and some of the trails are marked in black. What is the difference?

    @olddude

    red=trails

    black=roads — you can see these by selecting the overlay motor vehicle MVUM

    Seems right. Looking at the areas I’m familiar with, red dashed is non-motorized trails and black dashed is jeep trails.
