I have a pair of acrylic/wool bless socks I likened when the heels began to wear thin I darned them (crude re-weaving) with nylon thread.
Then I got the bright idea of coating the heels with Shoe GOO. WRONG! When it dried it was as rough as 100 grit sandpaper and now I can only wear them with my nearly-trashed Merrill Moab low shoes for training hikes for fear of wearing out the insides of the shoes’ heels.
Sometimes I’m so smart I make myself sick, other times I just make myself sick with stupid ideas that don’t work. This is the latter case.
