I have the Bora AR 50 backpacking. Is it okay to use it for occasional mountaineering/climbing too?

Yes, yes you can. The pivoting hipbelt makes this pack exceptionally agile. I would buy it in a heartbeat if it were 3 pounds rather than 5.
