MJH,  Yes I recovered but it took a couple of months. They told me to not lift anything over 5 lbs for the first two months anfd to sleep with my head elevated. Was finally cleared when the CT scan showed no loose blood around the brain.
It didn’t take me long to hit the SOS button because I could tell that it was not good and wanted to initiate contact while I still could. I think it took less than 5 minutes for Garmin Emergency to get back to me by text with questions about the emergency. I had my smartphone connected to the inReach by bluetooth so texting was like usual. texting by the inreach alone without the bluetooth connection is really awkward. It’s no problem with the paired smartphone. But that’s something you want to try out before you need it.
