BLM Moves to Roll Back Public Lands Rule

For those on these boards who wonder what this has to do with backpacking…

The language of the governement’s proposal removes “recreation” as an identified and desirable use of BLM lands. Their aim could not be clearer.

That leaves out the dirt bikers as well.

Most of JTNP was BLM just a few years ago

Face it gentle readers, this nation is in the grip of an ULTRA conservative (mal)administration and what we see happening at the BLM, EPA, Forest Service, Park Service, etc. is illustrative of what is happening throughout this nation’s government AND military.

Want to change things to protect what WAS protected? Then VOTE, DEMONSTRATE, WRITE CONGRESSMEN AND WOMEN. Get off your ass if you have not already done so. It is up to US, citizens who value SCIENCE in government, TRUTH in government, RULE OF LAW in government.

Sorry folks, it is not we who are injecting politics into Backpacking Light. Instead it is this government who is injecting their strange politics into our environment and thus Backpacking Light.
