Does anyone have a go to system for covering their face in cold, snowy, and windy conditions for prolonged periods of time? I cannot wear a mask over my face for more than an hour or so without it getting completely saturated with water.
I run with a thick merino balaclava as a base to cover my head and neck, but use other alternatives for my face. These have ranged from a wool buff, the Cold Avenger (Which I like but it gets very funky very quickly and has a tendency to fog my glasses), and my personal favorite – the BekoGear Peeko with extra space cut out for my mouth.
The BekoGear Peeko offers the least amount of protection of the three but it is better than nothing and I can wear it over my face the longest without it getting wet. I really like the cutout mouth hole to allow normal breathing. I am still looking in the market for a better option to this.
On another note, does anyone have experience with winter breathing devices such as the Lungplus or Airtrim mask?
