I have  been freeze drying for a few seasons.  Mainly vacuum packing my food or using the mylar bags and 02 absorbers that come from Harvest Right.  Can anyone recommend mylar bags and 02 absorbers that  are working for you (for 1-2 person meals).  This Harvest Rite bags  don’t have flat bottoms, they seem a bit too thick.  Their 02 absorbers also seem kind of large/heavy.  Thanks

can you re-use the O2 absorbers?

silica absorbs water.  You can put it in the oven which dries it out so you can re-use it

You cannot reuse the oxyfen absorbers.

I use the Wallaby brand bags. You can buy directly or on Amazon. They make bags with pleated bottoms, and have the MRE style. If you need a link, let me know.

Jerry.  The O2 absorbers are iron.  Pretty sure silica just absorbs moisture.

Yeah, O2 and water absorbers are different.

There’s probably some way to get the O2 out of the iron in the O2 absorbers.  How do you unrust something?  Maybe run electricity through it?  Not useful…
