I don’t know if you all noticed this but BPL has a “Diversity Fund” to which we can contribute.

Here in France where I do most of my hiking, I rarely see people of Arab, African, or Asian background in the mountains. Encounters are somewhat more frequent on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees, but still nothing approaching a ratio proportionate to community size.

My point isn’t to criticize but to motivate for change. I can think of lots of ways to do this, some that are already being done and some that are better, in the sense of having greater reach, than what BPL proposes, but this initiative has two advantages: 1) it touches me directly, since I’m a member of BPL, and 2) it gives me an avenue to contribute.

Hats off to Ryan and everybody else at BPL! Thank you!

Hey Jon. Thanks for posting this thread. Your post motivated me to actually click the button as well.

I have donated to the BPL Diversity Fund as well.

That seems like a program that I can support.  I just donated, too.

    Diversify Outdoors

We could make a list. I just started looking.

Would be nice tho to know if any of them are UL oriented like BPL.
