In the past, I’ve used a WM -5F bag in cold weather. This year, I am shifting gears and using two bags rather than one. A WM 32F bag and EE 10F quilt.

My question involves packing the two bags. I initially thought I’d use two 20L ultra-sil bags. Now I’m wondering whether there is merit to getting a larger sil bag and putting both in one.

Any suggestions about the best way to pack two sleeping bags?

Not two sleeping bags but I carry a top quilt and underquilt in the same bag. I made a Cuben roll top that exactly matches my pack’s depth and width (no waisted space) and I actually stuff everything soft in it. Camp clothes, both quilts, down jacket, etc. I think it works great, at least it does for me.
