I got some material called Duflot. It’s Twaron (Solvay’s Kevlar) felt. The aramid fibers are about 2 microns in diameter, which I think is a theoretically favorable fiber size for thermal insulation. It’s yellow, but otherwise looks like Thinsulate. I assume it absorbs more water than Thinsulate. I’m going to use it for mittens. Anyone familiar with this material?

You might be able to make bulletproof potholders from the remnants. :-)

about how thick is it and any idea of the ounces per square yard?
I am looking for some bulk 40 gram thinsulate or something comparable.
