http://www.enlightenedequipment.com/convert/

if you do, wanted to know how you like it…

particularly the zipper being in the middle—kinda of weird for tucking no?

and having no head hood (brrrr?)

IM considering it but those two things I wonder about….

Overall, what weight is UL range?

If the lack of a hood is a deterrent, and you aren’t interested in wearing a hat or a balaclava, then quilts are not for you.

I like a 30F Enigma for summer use. I’m contemplating a 20F Accomplice for 3 season use. But for colder weather I am more comfortable with a bag with a hood and a zip. YMMV.

Hey, I work for EE, but I’ll put my two cents in for your questions.

To start with, yep, definitely hoodless, but depending on how you sleep that might be a positive. Side and stomach sleepers often get frustrated with mummy bag hoods, as they can end up being more in the way than anything, though for some it doesn’t bother them. With our quilts and the Convert, it’s designed to go with a warm hat, a balaclava, or our Hoodlum. If you like sleeping with a puffy jacket on, some will also just use their jacket hood.

As for the zipper, it’s a really small, lightweight zipper (much smaller than you’re used to with most sleeping bags), so assuming you’re on a pad it’s not really that noticeable when you’re using it as a quilt. Then obviously in sleeping bag mode the zipper is up your chest, so no issues there.

Thanks Peter!!

Does the top part have a cinch?

Would my body go against the shape and design of the Convert if I slept with the zipper on the side instead of top?

On a warm night when Im covering and uncovering back and forth, I just dont see the zip in the middle on top being practical

Well Im not sure about the EE Convert.

Any suggested UL bags that have wider girth in the mid 60s’ and maybe a footbox?

The Feathered Friends Vireo has a 64″ shoulder girth and a nice foot box. You can add a couple ounces of down to the top section to make the temperature rating more uniform….and it is very light.

Hey Sebastian. Yep, there’s a cinch cord at the top, and yes, you could easily use the zipper on the side if you prefer it that way.

Thanks Peter.  If I wanna crawl in including my head, I can thus cinch the top? Im 5’8. If yes, get 6″ or 6.6 lenght?
