Has anyone done Mt Baxter, in the Sierras, from Sawmill Pass ?
it is supposed to be class 2, just wondering about this.
we would be approaching Sawmill Pass from JMT via Woods Lake.

Art, I can see the wheels are turning, but it’s nobody home except the crickets. I’ve been looking for info on this due to your prompting. Where did you gather the class 2 info from?
Secor’s book “The High Sierra” says the north ridge of Mt Baxter is only class 2.
the south west side of Baxter is also only class 2 by Secors book and verified by a recent trip report I read.
so the route I am envisioning thru that area does not even have any class 3.
