Do a google search for “tramping clubs” or look at FMC affiliated clubs here;Â http://www.fmc.org.nz/clubs/
If you are in Wellington I can highly recommend the club I belong to:Â http://www.wtmc.org.nz/
Some places also have Meetup tramping/hiking/walking/outdoors groups.
