I have a pair of Salomon Quest 4D boots I purchased a few years back for a Mt. Baker glacier climbing trip. The trip was awesome, and I new use these boots as “lightweight mountaneering” boots. They fit well with my 12 point crampons, and are sturdy enough for anything I typically do.
Typically, I hike (and live) in zero drop trail runners (shout out to the Xero folks), and the only modification I make to them at the addition of elastic laces like the lock laces: https://www.locklaces.com/collections/all . Now, my laces are wearing out on the Quests, so I want to know of there is a good option for easy to deal with laces that are sturdier than the elastics?

These don’t look so safe, so I’m wondering if anyone has used them or similar ones? Any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance!
