I’ve been thinking of trying my hand at sewing some basic garments out of alpha direct fabric since they’re impossible to find or expensive. (simple stuff like a shirt and pants)

I’m a sewing noob but have access to a standard machine and serger.

Is there a cheaper / common fabric that would simulate how Alpha direct sews? I’d like to practice on some cheapo fabric until I produce an acceptable sample, then I’ll try my hand at Alpha

You could probably get away with some cheap light weight fleece from walmart. I bought a cheap fleece throw blanket for like $6 from walmart for similar reasons. Even a thin jersey fabric would probably behave similarly.

I’ve made pullovers from Alpha and it is easy to sew – and I’m not that good.  If you have even basic skills, you can do it without fear.
