I have this link in a different post, but it seems like it deserves its own post. I’ve added more photos and a how-to video. Hope it’s helpful to some folks.

Excellent work Ben. A needed addition.

Like you, I’m a modder of my gear. Tomorrow I’m taking my Notch Li fly to my local shoemaker to get 4 fly hem stake loops sewn on.

First I added circular Dyneema tape pieces to the desired locations, folding them on the fly hem to form a semi-circle on each side. Then I folded larger Tenacious Tape circles over them and I stapled the stake loops on them where I want them sewn.

The Notch Li is a great tent but I felt it needed the same type of fly stake loops my Moment DW has. They are necessary in high winds to prevent constant flapping.

Modding is a “Magnificent Obsession” – if done right like you did.

Eric – That sounds cool! No one likes flapping.
