I want to add a guy out(stick on loop) to my pocket tarp to give me a little more headroom. I have the Zpacks stick on loop and plan on putting that with a equal sized square patch on the opposite side. Will this be strong enough without being sewn through?

I did this with a flat tarp. I used the stick on loop, then took a 3 in circular patch and cut a hole in the center for the loop and placed it over the loop patch. not sure that is really necessary, the DCF tape seems to hold really well. The 3 in patch I used had some sort of face fabric on it, I don’t think Zpacks sells that one any more. I think for a headroom tie out your plan should be fine. Could always reinforce over the loop patch with tenacious tape or something similar.
The two guylines on the back are held in place only with a stick-on patch. The stick-on patches I’ve added to my pocket tarp are strong.
Thanks. Would an interior patch even be needed in your opinion?
