So, trying to find a good heavy weight fleece for wearing under my shell when on the go. I am thinking Polartec Thermal Pro, but have seen Polartec Hi Loft as well. Are they similar or is Thermal Pro better at trapping air and just less efficient with regard to breathability? And on a side note, I don’t see many people using Power Shield Pro for softshells anymore which is sad. Thanks.

Eric,

My thermal tests only saw a big difference from the Classic versions with the Polartec Thermal Pro – High Loft variants, not the Thermal Pro or Thermal Pro 200 version’s. For active cold weather use down to about -20F, they perform well.

Richard,

What is the physical (and R value) difference between, say “classic” 200 weight Polartec and Thermal Pro 200?
