As I posted over a year ago I had dyed the solid interior of my Notch Li “Parrot Green” with RIT Dyemore dye for synthetic fabrics for shade. Also I added 4 stake loops at the fly hem, using circles of both Dyneema tape and Tenacious Tape.
1.)Recently I decided to shorten the outside floor-to-pole nylon webbing on both sides so it extends only 1/4″ from the floor wall. And I will use heavier elastic cord for the pole loops. This will have the effect of making the floor stretch to its maximum width, something this rather narrow solo tent could use.
2.) After watching it in high winds recently I may decide to add guy points on the 4 side walls using circles of Tenacious Tape with 2 layers on the outside B/C I’ll thru stitch the Line Loc nylon anchor to both layers – but NOT through the tent wall.
For the fly hem stakes and likely the side wall guy stakes I use the short MSR GroundHog stakes as there will not be as much tension on them as the door and main peak guy lines. Yeah, I also have some 9″ MSR twisted GroundHogs If I thought the side peak guy lines needed them but I would have to know I would be in very loose soil to carry those big stakes.
Anyone else hav mods they made to their Notch tents of either fabric?
