I haven’t tried any of the packs mentioned, but every pack I’ve used has the same issue; it’s hard to reach the bottle in the side pockets. Until, that is, I learned to simply loosen the shoulder straps a bit, slide the pack down, and voila, easy to grab and replace the bottles. The smooth and tall Smart water bottles also made it easier. I had been using Gatorade bottles, but they are shaped wrong and also ridged, so harder to grab them. These two simple solutions have worked with every pack I’ve used.

LiteAF packs are great for that. My 35 liter curve has side pockets big enough for two 1 liter bottles on each side and they are very easy to reach. Also the Superior Wilderness Designs Long Haul packs have great easy to reach side pockets.
Good to know, Jim ! Thanks much!!
