    I'm a Sawyer mini user, but for winter hiking it can't get frozen. What dies everyone use as their winter filtration system? Considering a steripen (also not sure which is the lightest) or aquamira type solution. I'd rather go with a filter of some kind rather than mess with the taste of the water. Thanks!

    @skomae

    Locale: northeastern US

    I use the Steripen.

    But on some winter trips I plan to melt snow with my stove, particularly when liquid water is not available.

    Lightest is always chlorine dioxide tablets.
