I'll be going to Minnesota in September by way of the UP from home in OH. Wondering about a trip in the UP.
Possible destinations:
Pictured Rocks-beautiful, some loops possible
Grand Island-a lot like Pictured Rocks but without the red tape.
Trap Hills-I've only day hiked there, but would like to BP.
Porcupine Mountains-great loop possibilities
Thinking 2-4 nights about in the middle of the month. Anyone interested? Please PM for the exact dates.

Not doing the UP but will be on the SHTA for 6 days in late Sept (25-30) doing aprx 62 miles.

North Manitou? — not the UP… A little red tape and the boat schedule is limited after season.
I didn't mention North Manitou. 'Grand Island' has three boats daily Labor day till October 9th. GI allows dispersed camping, no site-specific camping permits that I know of, unlike Pictured Rocks.
I'm in Marquette so message as it draws closer. Moving once my house sells but you never know, I could still be here.
