There’s now a 10 watt, Â 6.5 oz. Â Solar panel with charge controller available for a little over 50$. Pretty impressive, nearly 2 watts power oz, Â they’re using 22+% Sunpower cells.

I’m very happy with the PowerFilm LightSaver at 4.9.oz. I just put it on the top of my backpack and forget about it during the day. It has a built-in 3200 mAh Li-Ion battery that can be charged via sun (6 hours) or via USB cable from the wall outlet (3 hours). The power output is 5V, 1A. At the end of the day I charge via USB cable my iPhone, SteriPen, inReach, Sony DSC-TX30, I have learned the hard way to not let my iPhone charge while I sleep. Somehow the charger and the iPhone both end up empty in the morning. Instead I let it charge until I go to bed, then disconnect it and let it continue to charge in the morning. That is my only complaint about it. Otherwise it is fine for my charging needs during multi-week trips.
