Hi all.

I want to go camp outside of Seattle for one month and ideally not see anyone. Just me and the forest. I intend to set up camp and not move too much. I have gone backpacking alone before but never for a length like this. March is the earliest I can go. I don't want to deal with snow. Is there some snowless camping I could do in March around here? I would appreciate any advice you can give.

Thanks

If I were looking for a trip like you describe, or rather… if it was feasible for me at this time, I would consider the lower elevations in the Hoh Rainforest.

Thank you, James. I was thinking over on the peninsula might be the way to go. I have camped a little south of there and it was beautiful. That was in the summer though. Will the lower elevations will be relatively safe from snow?

The lower elevations should (SHOULD) be pretty clear of snow during your timeframe… with the winter (or lack) that we're having I would be hesitant to make a bet one way or the other. When considering NW weather I always wait "for the other shoe to drop".

Here is a pretty cool link for trails in the area:

You could drop the ONP an email and see what they think would be open:
