I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this, if not I apologize.

My wife and I would like to find a platform to receive donations per mile for charitable causes. We did this for our wedding registry but that was different as we weren't trying to garner donations per set interval.

Ideally, we would like donors to be able to choose how they would like to donate. Say $.01 for the entire length of the hike or $1 for 25 miles/days, etc., with donations going directly to the charity or to a fundraising site which is partnered with the charity.

I know I have heard of bike rides that did this and obviously events like the heart walk do this. I thought I would check here first to see if anyone could point me in the right direction.

As always, thanks in advance.

Edit for clarity: We are specifically looking for website platforms that would be able to help us accomplish our goals. Thanks!

Top of their website:

2013 Sponsor?

…yeah, now that inspires me to trust this website…

From what I can tell, and please correct me if I'm wrong, this site never touches the donations. It's only purpose is to have "sponsors" pledge to donate to charities based on the hiker's performance and remind the sponsors to make their donations. The sponsors make the donations directly to the cause/charity. HikeFor just tracks the hiker's progress and let's the sponsor know how much they need to donate based on their pledge, eg. $.50 per mile.

Does that make sense and seem legit?
