I got my hands on an old MSR Fling. The seams are definitely not sealed anymore, and I'm hesitant to think the body of the material still is under the stress of the type of rainstorms we get in the North East.
so I'm wondering if it makes more sense just to soak the whole tent in a paint bucket with diluted silicone (with some good sloshing around) bug netting and all, or to pitch it and use a foam brush to slowly brush the silicone(or Pertex) on, then go over the seams more carefully to ensure they are properly sealed?
Thanks for the advice, using the search function here is painful and I could not quite find any conversation that helped me answer this question.
