Is there a difference?

Slight difference in weight, yes. Big difference in price.

Is there anything I'm missing? I need to select a bivy for fall & winter camping in the Adirondacks (in leantos primarily, tents & maybe tarps too). I think the pertex top looks like the way to go: I'll be sheltered from rain and snow, but need something to block some wind and help keep me warm.

The only notable difference I can think of, besides the weight and the bottom material, is that the Oware bivy can't be sealed up at the head. If you wanted to use this by itself for an overnighter in the desert when a slight drizzle was all that you expected, your face would be exposed to the weather in the Oware, but you could stay dry in the BMW.

The BMW VAPR Bivy Sack has the silnylon floor, not the NANO. My mistake. I guess the comment about sealability still applies though…

That said, the two bivy sacks look strikingly similar, esecially considering the difference in price. Not to mention the fact that Ryan Jordan cut the zipper out of his anyway.
