Planned 2015:

More sections of the CCT
More sections of the PCT
More sections of The Oregon Trail

Start the Southern half of the Oregon Desert Trail.

Attempt #2 of my Mojave route.

My second yo-yo of the Bigfoot Trail.

And I still have about 350 miles of trail designing to finish up from last year that I did not get finished.

1. A canoe camping trip in Temagami or algonquin with my family. Our first.

2. An overnight bike trip out of our house in Northern VA along the C&O canal

3. Now that I've been bitten by the tenkara bug, returning with my rods to all those promising looking streams and creeks I've come across over the last 8 years in SNP

4. A week fishing in RMNP ahead of Tenkara summit. Even better if my brother can join me.

5. If time and buget permits taking family to Canyonlands NP and GC north rim

6. If work takes me to California I'll try and sneak out to the Sierras or Trinity Alps. Lost Coast while on the long term list will probably not happen this year.

Pemi loop in NH, Grafton Notch Loop trail in Maine, and maybe the 100 mile Wilderness up to KSC. Still trying to talk my GF into that one.

I am relocating in 2015 so plans are likely to remain a bit up in the air until some of that falls into place. That said I think a hike of the Wonderland trail is likely and I am fairly excited about that.

My plans are considerably more tame than a lot of you…I'll be bringing along my daughters, ages 15 and 12, for most of it:

Feb – Mt. Baker snow camping

Mar – Scottish Lakes snowshoeing

Apr – Eastern WA or OR backpacking (haven't nailed down a trail yet)

May – Drag racing weekend with brother-in-law

Jun – Weekend trips

Jul – Enchanted Valley ONP backpacking

Aug – Gunsight Pass GNP backpacking

Sep – Enchantment Lakes or HST (permit dependent)

Ten days in the Beartooth Mountains with my youngest son (his first time there) and a section or two of the Colorado Trail with my brother, as he hikes the whole thing for his first time. There's something magical about sharing your favorite areas with someone close to you and I get to do it twice this year.

Doug–

If you have an WA candidates, I'd be curious to hear about them. I'm hoping to plan something similar.

Early March: Grand Canyon with my 10-year-old daughter
Late March: California to visit family, but day hikes every day.
April: Kotzebue for the Kuskokwim 440 (spectator) and ice-fishing for sheefish.
June: New England college tours and Presidential Range in NH with my 14-year-old.
July: maybe some day-long death marches / paddles with Manfred.
August: BPing on the Kenai Peninsula.
That's as far as I've planned.

There's a really nice trail in Campo, California that I'll be checking out this spring. And summer. And hopefully early fall.
