" OK, just saw an ad for culinary school. Don't know what tickled that ad to appear. "
Sarah is lurking in the background somewhere.

I think my head is about to explode."
Time to take a deep breath and remember it's just Monte, trolling again.
And I think he just got a nibble. OK, bite, then. ;0))
Jan 15, 2015 at 7:07 pm #2165014oh, it's in jest.
so let's all use sexism and racism in our comedy.
it'll be funny and satirical.
and moderator approved.
can't wait until that there jew dating comes up, i mean sorta okay looking and lots of food on the table, but all the complaining. and the chance to date a colored, great music and dancing, but so lazy. ditto for those south of the border types.
wait… it IS funny and clever. sorry monte.
Jan 15, 2015 at 7:07 pm #2165015Don't worry about it, Monte. Obviously Roger, our resident Moderator, saw the absurd humour in the post.
Jan 15, 2015 at 7:13 pm #2165012Roger, thanks for the spelling correction.
I didn't personally attack anyone in the post, nor did I use profanity.
I never meant for any of the post to be taken seriously. Kathrina has it right when she says "the post expresses what the ads are all about". The post is simply a reaction to having the ads put in my face. It was meant in an Andrew Dice Clay kind of way.
I'm insignificant people. Who cares what I say in a few lines of a stupid post? No one should really give a hoot. Ok, so I'm a politically incorrect, but if saying controversial things makes me a troll then so be it. Why the call for censorship? I'm just shocked that people got bent out of shape over such a goofy post.
Besides, someone has to play the bad guy in order to keep the blue state clique here at BPL on their toes.
And oh yea Billy, some geographers consider Russia west of the Urals as part of Europe.

Jan 15, 2015 at 7:16 pm #2165019I'm a right winged backpacker. This has nothing to do with political leanings.
But you are right.
The Internet is full of trolls. I can't change that. All I can do is help mentor my daughter so when she encounters comments like these, she'll understand her value isn't determined by swine.
Jan 15, 2015 at 7:26 pm #2165022Dave T, every time a thread gets a little contentious you want it moved to Chaff.
Why don't you just go to another thread? The Paris satire publication was just attacked because they published things that offended some people. The Islamic terrorists sought to snuff freedom of speech.
Jan 15, 2015 at 7:42 pm #2165025I did not care all that much about the ads before, but they are out of place here. There are forums where they might blend in better, but in a place where men and women interact about the outdoors and gear and accomplishments, this obnoxious reminder of what some percentage of the population is into…is just obnoxious.
Really, BPL,do something about this.Jan 15, 2015 at 8:37 pm #2165044AnonymousInactive.

+1
Jan 15, 2015 at 8:57 pm #2165055Well this is quite the think tank.
Yes comedy is a good thing.
But for the benefit of you bed wetting delusional liberals, being a mysogynistic tool isn't a political position. It's simply being an xxxxx
See! Ha ha! I made a funny!

Let's not offend the moderator with vulgar language?Cheers

Jan 16, 2015 at 2:44 am #2165101Sorry Roger. Based on recent events, I just assumed BPL had thrown in the towel.
Jan 16, 2015 at 4:20 am #2165111Love the irony….
Jan 16, 2015 at 5:41 am #2165119hknewman: Ed: Actually at work and the ads for Asian ladies, Sugar Momma's, etc.. popped up.
Well, there you have it. I'd bet that at your workplace there is a demographic that has visited sites that would trigger these adds. A high enough population visiting at a given location would tirger ads for a wider community than those who've actually visited those sites.
I do get the hiking singles add occasionally. I don't find it any more offensive than adverts for Christiansingles, jdate or any other demographically linked dating site.
EDIT: Since I searched for and visited one of those sites I now get banners for christian dating services.
Jan 16, 2015 at 8:50 am #2165153Roger's fine with sexism, racism, and homophobia too (as seen in the past) but don't use a swear word around him. I mean, children could read it.
Jan 16, 2015 at 8:56 am #2165155Disagreeing with how the forum is moderated is one thing; the above post is not only unfair but quite offensive.
Jan 16, 2015 at 8:57 am #2165157Well Roger has the unenviable unpaid job of herding us cats and I can't say that I could do a better job.
Jan 16, 2015 at 9:00 am #2165158… demographic ..
@ Richard – not really. Mostly I work around college age female pre-nursing and cosmetology/fashion students – was at a public computer w/a generic login but hit a few outdoor sites and news before or after BPL. May pick up on those clusters of websites. More a nuisance for me as I like catching up on BPL at work.
Jan 16, 2015 at 9:02 am #2165160+1 to Kat and Ian
Jan 16, 2015 at 10:20 am #2165185@ hknewman: public computer
LOL well, it could be anything.
FWIW there's more information on how Google decides what ads to serve here:
Jan 16, 2015 at 12:19 pm #2165234Hi Dave
> Roger's fine with sexism, racism, and homophobia too
Not quite.
I am not in favour of any of those things, but I am not going to impose my views on everyone else. I believe we should all have fair freedom of speech. In many cases, someone being overly sexist (for instance) exposes himself to obvious ridicule, which is sufficient.
But being crude or vulgar is another matter. One can express oneself quite sufficiently without that.Cheers
Jan 16, 2015 at 12:36 pm #2165236Hey Roger,
When you get a moment, click on the Sugar Momma link here at BPL as I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on what's on the other side.
Jan 16, 2015 at 12:49 pm #2165240Roger isn't going to do that. If his wife found out, she would throw him out of the house.

Jan 16, 2015 at 12:59 pm #2165246you only get the sugar momma ad if you've been previously looking at online porn that creates cookies…
