Hi all,

I am looking to purchase a Tarptent Stratospire 1 from Henry Shires, but I am wondering about the length of the inner tent.

I am pretty tall ( 6'3" ) and use a long bag.

Will this be a problem in the Strat 1?

Thanks in advance for any help / advice…
Paddy

My brother is 6'4" and about 230#s. He used my SS1 once and loved it…and he feels cramped in just about everything.

Henry claims the SS1 is good up to about 6'4". He specifically told me (6'5") to forget about it. Both the Notch and the MomentDW are supposed to be good up to 6'9", but they have significantly less floorspace and headroom. I have the Rainbow, which has plenty of length for me, lots of floorspace and sufficient shoulder room. Of course, it's a single-wall whereas the other three are double-walls. And you can't leave the door open on the Rainbow in a calm rain like you can on the others. (There's a porch mode that can work, but tall guys have to slither in and out of that setup, which gets everything wet anyway…)

Henry always keeps us taller folk in mind. Bless him.

There is a new model coming out called the ProTrail that is like a modified Contrail that I bet will have a lot of usable length.

"Jennifer – you have too many tents."

HA! true, but I like to think of it more like serial monogamy; they've all been sold but my Duomid. I think I've found The One, and he's a keeper!
