While shopping for a bed I ran across this:

Might be a good option for those who want a little cushion to sit on. I didn't have my scale on me, but this thing was featherweight, I'd be astonished if it was over an ounce. This is a lot cheaper and probably lighter than similar expensive sit pads Ive seen.

lol at Max. Larston, some will also buy a $7 foam pad at Walmart and cut to size for a near lifetime of sit pads.

Back in the days when a blue foam pad was all the padding I needed (sigh…) — I sliced a section off the sleep pad to double as wind screen for my alky stove and a sitting pad — and velcroing the piece back to the rest of the pad at bed time.

I just found a bunch of white closed cell foam that was used on some materiel packaging. This is about 5/8" thick, and very comparable to the "blue pads" sold. I am using this to supplement my 3/4 length Xtherm pad. Check around, and you may find some for free

The price is right. I use a Thermarest Z Seat, but only because I got it at a yard sale for $2. I too use it to supplement my sleeping pad. It can help as a wind screen for cooking and a makeshift cozy for bagged meals too. Great to stand on when changing socks or pants and a knee pad.
