hiking through storm

Busyness and writer’s block have prevented me from posting many trip reports lately. But a winter cold has slowed me down enough that I was able to write one up. Here’s a report of a trip I did back in late September of this year. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks, Nick. The Indian Peaks Northern Loop is still one of my favorites around here. Though I've hiked it many times, it never gets old.

Nice report as always. I did this loop in the opposite direction (except ended at Peaceful Valley) about a dozen years ago. Too bad Buchanan Pass was socked in, it is a terrific view. But I suspect you have been there on other trips. Fox Park is perhaps the most beautiful spot in the Indian Peaks, I'm sure it was amazing with the fall colors.

Enjoyed!

Lately I find I'm much more drawn to TRs than gear obsessiveness. Thank you for supporting this healthy shift for me!

Too long since your last report, but worth the wait as always.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. Katherine, I do like gear, but once I set foot on the trail, it kind of fades into the background. For me, it's all about the experience of traveling through the natural world.

Drew, you guessed right about Fox Park. The mist was lifting as I was passing through there, but the moisture and the overcast skies made the fall colors really saturated. It was great!
