Hi everyone,
The past years, I transitioned to minimal footwear for running and everyday wear. However, for longer hiking tours I often like the added protection of hiking boots since my tendons tend to get tired and sore over the course of longer multi-day trips. One major issue I have found with my boots is the massive heel-to-toe drop. This messes with the walking technique that I've developed using minimalist shoes (shorter steps, landing closer to the center of mass etc.).
I was wondering whether there are any conventional hiking boots with a low drop. As I said, I'm not looking for a barefoot sole or a superflexible ankle movement or any minimalism whatsoever. I would like the benefits of a boot (grippy sole, some ankle support), the only change being a zero or small heel-to-toe drop.
Thanks for your input!
