I'm no photographer, and just use a P&S camera, but have been thinking of sharing a pictoral series dedicated to destinations in the (seemingly…somehow?)largely ignored Cumberland Plateau area that stretches from Kentucky into North Georgia and Alabama, and is home to many natural wonders.
Loading even downsized pics of any quantity to this site is laborious, though, so in case I never do…

My all-time favorite outdoor activity is following streams up boulder-strewn gorges, whether in or along the streambeds. Sometimes the end point is rather anticlimactic, but such was not the case yesterday when I rounded the final turn in the trail and found myself unable to do more than stand and stare for the next few moments.

Owen, that's a neat spot. I wouldn't let the lack of responses here (the "Photo Gallery" subforum has never been very active) deter you from posting more photos.

If it's easier you may consider using a free service such as Flickr or Picasa to upload your series to, then simply post a link to the entire album either here, or maybe the trip reports forum.

> following streams up boulder-strewn gorges,
Oh yeah, been there too, here in Oz. You find all sorts of things. That's a really good photo.

Cheers

Thanks, guys.

Jake, I missed an opportunity to climb at RRG awhile back. Haven't hiked there, and am not into climbing any more.
I'm too short, heavy, and banged up. Didn't start 'til I was 38, and already a mass of injuries, so 5.10b was as far as I made it-you know, that point where you can't manhandle the climbs and have to have some technique! :)
The people I knew who used to go there told me I'd go nuts, since I tried to pick up all the trash wherever we climbed.

Jacob, I've thought about just doing public Imageshack albums, since I'm a member of that. Guess I'll try it sometime…

Roger…loved that spot.
Having just come back from Utah, the patterns on the walls there and the alcove preceding reminded me of coming into "Wall Street" in the Zion Narrows(but in red!):

We followed the river up from Yamacraw. Stayed a night where Negro creek meets the river, walked up through Yahoo falls and the arch. We went up lick creek to princess falls but missed this waterfall in your photo. Our loss.
