I plan on taking my first trip to the Wind Rivers on the second week in July this summer (2015). My 14 year old and a friend will join me and we are willing to pile on miles to hit the best lakes/streams. I have purchased 3 maps, read Osthoff, and am trying my best to sift through the many, many options in the winds. I enjoy catching different species and some solitude, but am especially catching some nice goldens.

Alright, any recommendations? We plan on spending at least seven days in the backcountry and could extend if it would help us.

Thanks in advance!

Do you have the Adkinson book? It has lots of information about trout species in each lake. The only lake I've fished in the Winds was Long, not very remote, but beautiful with good fishing for Cutts and Brookies. And don't pass up the opportunity to fish the Green. I'm planning a trip next year, but probably not till September.
